CVS - ECBs and Rainchecks - UPDATE
When I have requested a raincheck for an item that generates ECBs the cashier writes out the raincheck for the amount that the item would have been after ECBs.
For example, this week with the L'Oreal stuff that was on sale for $11.99 and you got $11.99 back in ECBs. My store didn't have it in stock and I asked for a raincheck. He wrote out the raincheck for a total of "FREE".
So when I go to purchase the stuff (when they get more in), I will still be able to use my coupon for the overage but I will get no ECBs for the L'Oreal because the price ($11.99) was deducted from my total already. Does that make sense? Hope that helps you out!!
I'm excited to try this!! Let us know if this works for you and which store you go to.

Glade Wisp Candles - Get 2 for $1!
I believe this deal is going on at many different grocery stores that have Catalina coupon machines.
Today at Cub I saw that the Glade Wisp candles are still priced at $6.99.
When you buy one you get a Catalina coupon for $3 off your next order.
Buy two for $13.98
Use B1G1 printable coupon HERE
Pay $6.99 + tax OOP (out of pocket)
Get $6 in Catalina coupons back
= $.99 for two!
If you have any coupons from recent coupon inserts, this can be an even better deal!
Tip - don't use the check-out-yourself kiosk when you have a B1G1 coupon, because the computer won't allow you to enter in the amount of the free item yourself...you'll need the attendant to do it and that can take longer than going through the usual check-out line!
By the way - these are nice and would make good little presents for teachers, bus driver, mail carrier, etc.

CVS - ECBs and Rainchecks
It's frustrating because the stores sometimes don't stock enough of the sale items or items that earn you ECBs and by the time you get to the store....there are none left. Sometimes I go on a Monday and they're still out of stock!
Something to try: I have heard that it may be possible to request a raincheck for the item that is out of stock. This is usually not a problem.
It may also be possible to ask for a CVS gift card in the amount of the ECBs you are missing out on since the item is not available the week of the sale. Plus, once you buy the item at the raincheck price ( a week later?), the register will not be programmed to give you the ECBs that went along with it earlier.
It's worth at try at your store!
Have you had experience with this? If so, let us know!

Clipping Coupons - Part Time Job?
It takes a lot of time to go through Sunday newspaper coupon inserts, cut out the coupons and then file them in some sort of way that you'll remember what you have...and then to actually have the right ones with you when you need them!
I feel like it was exciting in the beginning, but week after week of doing this gets old.
When listing deals, I try to tell you the date of the coupon to use. The date I list is the date the coupon came out, not the expiration date.
SO, if clipping coupons is a little too time consuming, don't give up! Simply save the coupon inserts each week in a file (the whole insert) and write the date on top.
When you see a deal or sale item that I list here, reference your file and look for the date of the coupon. Clip only the ones you need at that time.
Clipping coupons doesn't have to feel like a part time job.

Save Big With The Grocery Game
THE LIST is a printable list of all items on sale at your store. The cool thing is that the list prints in different font colors. This means that you can tell when items are at "rock bottom" prices. These rock bottom prices are sale prices combined with coupons. The List tells you which coupons to use to get items for free, nearly free or at a very low price.
The Grocery Game encourages stock-piling. This means that when items are at their rock bottom prices, you should stock up. Starting a stockpile of commonly used items will eliminate buying items at full price. You can "shop" from your own pantry.
Another cool thing that The Grocery Game shows you is WHEN to use your coupons. You may have a great coupon burning a hole in your coupon binder (or purse or file or pocket) but it doesn't mean you should use it right away. You will learn the best time to use coupons at your particular store in conjunction with sale prices.
The Grocery Game also tells you WHERE to find coupons. If a coupon binder isn't for you, just write the date on your coupon inserts every week. The List will tell you which insert the coupons you need can be found in.
Here's the BEST part of The Grocery Game - you get to try it for a month for $1....Wow!
I must admit that I signed up for the $1 trial quite a few months ago. Then I cancelled the subscription because I thought I could keep track of deals on my own.....nope! Well, I could keep track of quite a few but there were several stores I wanted to shop at....not just one. We're talking a part-time job here practically!
Let's just say I signed up again. I pay $10 for eight weeks for one store.
Check out The Grocery Game for yourself. If you want, you can list me as the person who referred you. My e-mail is rconway111@gmail.com. You have to enter my e-mail address when you sign up for the trial. If I refer three people, I earn a free 12 weeks. Yay!
