Cheerios Challenge - Still On

I signed up for the Cheerios Challenge a few weeks ago. The campaign's purpose is to help people lower their cholesterol in six weeks by eating Cheerios every day.

Here's the part I was interested in - signing up gets you SIX $1/1 Cheerios coupons in your e-mail. One coupon per week. Make that 12 coupons since you can print each one twice!

I figured maybe by now it was too late for new sign-ups but tonight I saw a commercial inviting people to log on and sign up.

Go HERE to sign up and start getting coupons.

There are always great deals on cereal, especially General Mills brand. Saving cereal coupons and matching them up with sales means paying $0 to no more than $1 per box from here on out.

Grandparents Day - Sunday Sept. 7

Grandparents Day is coming up!

Don't forget to recognize the wonderful Grandparents in your life.

We are blessed that my husband's and my parents live very close by and see our kids a couple times a week. In fact, they are more like parents to the kids than grandparents!

We love you Grammy, Papa, Grandma and Oompa!

Goodwill Online!

I love thrift store shopping. I don't do it as often as I would like since I seem to have to do my shopping with the kids (3) more often than not.

But, it is always fun to dig and feel the thrill of a great deal.

My sister, however, is a little more into it than me. Check out her six-thrift-stores-in-eight-hours post where she talks about...what else? Great deals...and...uh...hand sanitizer.

Anyway, I found out that Goodwill now has a shopping site online!

I haven't looked it over too much yet and I'm kinda wondering about the shipping - $7.99 flat fee up to 150 lbs. This is a great deal on larger items but maybe not so much on a few kids outfits or toys.

See what you think - http://www.goodwilltoo.com/

Signing Up For Samples - Is it worth it?

This is what came in the mail today - a full size roll of Scott Extra Soft bath tissue and a Schick Quattro razor with trimmer (the good kind - not disposable).

So that's great and everything, but how often do these samples really come?

Well, that depends. I sign up for every Walmart sample available because I know they always come....and quick. Remember THIS post? I signed up for the Scott TP on August 18 and it came Sept. 4!

SO, you don't always know how long it will take. Some samples may never come. BUT, if you use the AutoFill button on the Google Tool Bar or Roboform, it only takes seconds to submit your information. Give it a try! It's fun too see a little box in the mailbox instead of just envelopes all the time.

AND - in four months of signing up for free stuff, I've probably received enough shampoo and face cream samples to last me a month or more!

Here's some freebies from Walmart to get you started:

Cottonelle Fresh Wipes

Kotex Pads

Playtex Sport

John Frieda Luxurious Volume

Tampax Pearl

Benefiber

In-Store Savings Coupons

Don't these people look happy? Looks like they're shopping at the Mall of America. Next time I shop there, I'll be armed with LOTS of in-store coupons.

My brother brought my nephew over today because he had some clothes shopping to do at JC Penney and Casual Male.

I sat down at my computer and went to Mommy Saves Big.

I ended up printing him coupons for both stores in about 5 minutes or less. If he used them today, then he probably saved $20-$30!

I spend a lot more time than 5 minutes rounding up little grocery coupons that usually get me less savings. I need to remember to check online before I do any shopping. There's plenty of savings to be had!

Here are some of my favorites from Mommy Saves Big:

JC PENNEY
- 15% off your next order

SEARS
- Save $5 on a $30 purchase

FASHION BUG
- Save $20 on a $50 purchase

HALF PRICE BOOKS
- $5 off $20 purchase

MEN'S WAREHOUSE
- $5 off any purchase

CASUAL MALE
- Save $20 on a $75 purchase

TARGET
- many in-store grocery coupons

Free Sample - X20 Energy Drink

RED BOX - Free DVD Rentals - Every Week!

So, I have heard about free Red Box DVD rental codes from other blogs but wondered how to get them on my own.

I went HERE to sign up for an account with Red Box. After I filled out the sign-up information, I hit continue to go on.

Then I clicked on "Get a Free Rental" in the top middle of the page.

This led me to a new page to sign up for text messages.

I now get text messages for a free rental code every Monday. Last week I even got one for Wednesday too!

Things to know about using a free rental code:
- press "Rent With a Promo Code" on the machine to get started
- each code can be used once per credit card
- you have to insert your credit card so they have a way to charge you if you return the DVD late - return the rental on time (usually 24 hours) to avoid a $1 fee

HERE's a link to find a Red Box near you.

Free movies - Yay!

Love This Site - Couponmom.com

I found this website a few months ago when I started "coupon-ing".

When you sign up for free, one of the perks you get is Stephanie Nelson's (The Coupon Mom) e-book "Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half".

From this book I learned:

- how to figure out the lowest sale price for items I buy
- how to buy things in advance and "stockpile" them for future use to avoid buying at high prices in the spur of the moment
- which stores to use my coupons at
- where to find coupons

Other things I like about this site:

- The Grocery Deals by State is a list I print for items on sale and the location of coupons to go along with them at the grocery and drug stores in my area
- The Coupon Mom Blog posts new deals and coupons daily
- The Grocery Coupon Database gives you direct links to several coupons available
- There are tips and ideas on what to do with your extra coupons and items purchased

Click HERE to check this site out for yourself.

York Photo - 20 Free Prints!

Here's another photo deal. Get 20 free prints from York Photo!

I just got my prints in the mail today and they are great!

Shipping on 20 prints is about $1.75 which equals out to $.08 per picture. This is not a bad price.

Click HERE to sign up with York!

Oh yeah - after I received my order from York, I got an e-mail with a coupon code for 50 prints - 1 cent each!!

Remember these photo deals if you haven't signed up for them yet:

Artscow - 400 FREE prints (and TONZ of other freebies that they just seem to keep adding to your account)

Shutterfly - 50 FREE prints and FREE collage poster
Shutterfly.com static

Here's what you can win:

Free Johnson's Buddies Soap

Johnson's Buddies soaps are around $.97-$1.00 each at Walmart, Target, CVS and other places.

Print these coupons to get several for free! You can use the $2 off 2 coupon for 2 bars.

$1/1 Printable Coupon

$2/2 Printable Coupon

As I always say, hit the back button to print two of each. That's 6 free bars of soap!!

Prescription Transfer Coupon

CVS takes pharmacy competitor coupons. These coupons promise a gift card worth a certain value with a prescription transfer or for a new prescription.

Click HERE to print a coupon for a $30 gift card from Rite Aid. Expires 9/30/08.

Present one coupon with each of your prescription transfers to CVS. (You can print more than one coupon).

Transfers are easy to do - just go to CVS and fill out a form at the pharmacy. They will then call your current pharmacy for the information they need.

I have used this coupon four times for $110 in gift cards for prescriptions that we were previously getting from Walgreens.

It is possible that some CVS pharmacies may not accept certain competitor coupons if the competitor pharmacy is not local. However, I have not had this problem.
